Summary: ISWAN is an international organisation and UK-registered charity which promotes and supports the welfare of seafarers on a worldwide basis.

ISWAN works to facilitate welfare services internationally for seafarers in a number of ways, including supporting the development of port welfare committees through its International Port Welfare Partnership (IPWP) Programme, and producing and distributing health information tailored specifically to seafarers.

ISWAN also provides direct support to seafarers and their families through SeafarerHelp (a free, multilingual helpline/referral service available 24 hours a day, 365 days per year) and a Regional Programme located in India, the Philippines and Nigeria. ISWAN also administers a number of relief funds for seafarers and their families in need.

ISWAN is a membership organisation with the International Chamber of Shipping, International Transport Workers' Federation and International Christian Maritime Association as key members.
